Foster Family Care Overview

Foster families provide a safe, nurturing family environment for children who have been removed from their homes due to abuse or neglect. This care is vital after a child has experienced trauma. Foster families provide the temporary shelter and support needed until a child can return home, be cared for by relatives or adopted. If a child becomes available for adoption, often the foster parents become their forever family.

At KVC, we recruit, train and license foster families to care for children ages birth to 18. These families offer the essential stability each child needs by providing a home, food, clothing, education, medical care, supervision and transportation, support and guidance. Foster families also play an important role in helping each child achieve safe and timely reunification.  KVC staff is on call 24/7 to offer support, advice and crisis intervention to foster parents who raise these children.

If you a want to make a difference in a child’s life, we urge you to consider becoming a foster parent with KVC.
