Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility (PRTF) Overview

KVC operates Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facilities (PRTF) for children and adolescents who need psychiatric services. This care is provided in a residential setting for youth who need psychiatric care, rather than the intensive services offered in a hospital setting.

Each week, children and adolescents receive a combination of therapeutic treatment services, which include psychiatric and nursing care as well as individual, family and group therapies. Group therapies cover a wide range of issues and include anger therapy, men’s and women’s groups, boundaries groups and groups coping with grief and loss.
