Secure Care Overview
All of our outpatient services are designed with the idea that the safety and well-being of children come first. As a part of KVC’s continuum of care, we offer secure care services, which provide treatment for adjudicated children in need of care in a fully secure residential facility.
These youth are generally not dangerous to self or others but do display behaviors that are anti-social, aggressive and rebellious in nature. They have a history of running away, and they may display situational aggression and poor social skills, have moderate degrees of emotional disturbance and may have a history of poor self-esteem. Clients who possess these attributes may also be admitted and served.
Our secure care services offer stability and consistent structure to allow for intensive individualized assessment. The program emphasizes a child- and family-centered approach to care that supports improved decision making, coping skills and social skills. KVC also collaborates with community and family members to develop support systems to allow for a successful return to the community.
