Training and Education Overview
We realize taking a new child into your home can seem like a cumbersome task, and you will most certainly face some challenges along the way. To more effectively prepare you for this experience, KVC provides foster and adoptive parents with training prior to becoming a licensed home, continuing education credits (CEUs) to stay up to date on licensure and ongoing support throughout the entire process.
In addition, because we know you want to be sure your children are in good hands, we ensure KVC staff continually receives the latest in family therapy training. Our case workers and therapists teach parents evidence-based techniques and tools needed to keep families together. We coach them to a healthier way of life so they may reunite as a cohesive family following a tough period.
KVC also hosts educational conferences with some of the nation’s top experts in medical and behavioral healthcare. These conferences, which are often open to other professionals in the community, allow KVC employees to refine their skills and become some of the best and brightest in our industry. Many KVC trainings are based on empirically validated theories, so rest assured you and your loved ones are receiving premium care under our supervision.
