1,000 Adoptions Celebration
Life isn’t fair, but it is still good.
Between July 2005 and April 2009, KVC helped facilitate the adoption of more than 1,000 children. To commemorate this great achievement, we hosted a reception, ceremonial garden dedication and balloon drop for families, friends, donors, government officials, community partners, KVC board members and staff.
The event took place April 2, 2009, at the Ball Conference Center in Olathe. The ballroom was filled with families from as far away as Topeka. Dignitaries included Kansas Lt. Governor Mark Parkinson, Olathe Mayor Michael Copeland and Shawnee County District Court Judge Daniel Mitchell. A string quartet from the Olathe South High School Orchestra provided entertainment fro the event. You can meet the teen who has the honor of being KVC’s 1,000th adoption.
Since that celebration, the number of children who have been adopted continues to grow. We invite you to consider adoption and follow our progress of finding loving, caring Forever Families for children across our region.
