National Foster Care Month
Foster families have a remarkable impact on the nearly half a million children in the foster care system each year. These families open their homes, lives and hearts to children in need of love and guidance. Such an undertaking deserves recognition and celebration, which is why May has been declared National Foster Care Month.
Each May, KVC and other child welfare agencies take the opportunity to thank foster families for their tremendous, heart-felt contributions to children. We take time to show support of our more than 700 trained and licensed families with picnics, celebrations and other events during this month.
In addition to honoring current foster families, National Foster Care Month increases visibility to the cause and raises awareness about the country’s fundamental need for supportive foster families. Please consider making a difference in a child’s life by becoming a KVC foster parent.
