Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility
At KVC, we make it our highest priority to serve children and families during all types of difficulties. Our Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facilities enable us to care and account for children of different age groups and genders who need guidance with cognitive and emotional abilities.
KVC operates multiple Residential Intensive Service Programs for children ages 6 -18. These programs are located on KVC's campus in Kansas City and at the Wheatland Psychiatric Hospital in Hays.
KVC offers programs for boys and girls in a variety of settings that tender to the age and developmental capabilities. In our facilities, we treat children and adolescents who need mental health care in a less restrictive facility than a hospital setting.
These programs meet the individual treatment needs of children and adolescents who require a high level of structure. The therapeutic environment provides a high degree of supervision while addressing individual needs of the clients, primarily psychiatric and behavioral issues.
Our three cottages, Keiley, Logan and Wyandotte Houses offer ideal settings for youth who need mental health services.
As a part of the superior services, children and adolescents receive a combination of therapies, behavior modification, medication management and recreation to enable them to manage their illness and lead successful and productive lives.
