Kansas State Contract Services: Child Welfare and Behavioral Health
In 1996, Kansas became the first state to privatize its child welfare system by contracting with private agencies to provide the care for children in state custody. Since that time, KVC has served as a contractor for these children. Children enter state custody when a court determines removing children from their home is required to ensure safety. Often these children have experienced abuse or neglect. KVC then provides case management and related services to these children.
We understand the critical importance of meeting needs promptly and effectively to establish child permanency. KVC is responsible for serving all children involved in foster care and adoption near Kansas City in Johnson, Wyandotte, Franklin, Leavenworth, Miami and Douglas counties.
We are proud to offer one of the most extensive arrays of behavioral health services of any private foster care provider in the nation.
