KVC Nebraska History

KVC Nebraska is a nonprofit organization providing care to children and families in the Omaha and Lincoln areas.  KVC was awarded child welfare contracts from the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) as a step in an ongoing effort by Nebraska to improve services to children and families.

Nearly 1,500 Nebraska children transitioned to KVC care November 1, 2009.  KVC serves 19 counties in southeast and eastern Nebraska and has offices in Omaha, Lincoln, Beatrice, Seward and Nebraska City.

KVC Nebraska will draw upon the experience of its operations in Kansas to assist DHHS in improving Nebraska outcomes for safety, permanency and well-being, as measured by the federal Children and Family Services Reviews (CFSR). In the current second round of these reviews, Kansas ranks first in three of these national standards and rates no lower than fifth in any area. We are very excited to expand our successes into Nebraska and are committed to enriching and enhancing the lives of Nebraska children and families.
