Webinar 1 – Depression: Diagnosis, Care and Treatment
Tuesday, April 19 from 12 p.m. – 1 p.m. CDT
Over the past two years, youth have experienced significant changes to their lives, and we have seen an increase in youth needing acute mental health treatment. As children and teens try to adapt to all the changes in their environment, peer support levels, and daily routines, many have struggled to cope with feelings of loneliness, sadness, and hopelessness. In this training, we will provide information about how children experience depression and offer insights into the clinical care for depression symptoms, including psychotropic medication management.
In this training, you will learn:
- How to define and understand depression diagnosis in youth, including symptoms
- Treatment approaches for children and teens, including the use of psychiatric medications
- How these treatment interventions and tools have been helpful in clinical care in a case study
