Children’s Mental Health Services in the Kansas City Area

Children's mental health is urgent - we all need connection - KVC Health Systems - Kansas City area nonprofit

KVC Health Systems helps children experience safety, connection, and mental wellness through its children’s mental health and family services. We specialize in caring for our community’s most vulnerable children — those who are at risk of experiencing abuse, neglect, or other serious trauma and adversity. That’s why our outpatient mental health services are dedicated to children receiving state child welfare services.

However, our inpatient children’s mental health hospitals and residential treatment centers are open to all children and families. Learn more about Camber Children’s Mental Health including our hospitals and residential treatment centers in Kansas City, Wichita, and Hays.

In addition, we recently announced that KVC’s Camber Mental Health and Children’s Mercy Kansas City, have formed a joint venture (JV) to expand inpatient pediatric and adult mental health treatment capacity and access in the greater Kansas City area and across the region. The new JV will open a $53 million 72-bed mental health inpatient hospital in Olathe, Kansas. Target for opening is late 2024. Read more about our Olathe Mental Wellness campus here.
