Sparks Fly as KVC’s 2025 Gala Raises Over $400,000 for Mental Health Services & More

Thanks to everyone who made the Candlelight Club shine so bright at KVC’s 2025 Gala at the Abbott!
It was an unforgettable evening where every flicker of generosity lit the way for children and families in crisis. Your spark fueled something extraordinary: more than $400,000 raised to uplift children and families served by KVC.
We are endlessly grateful to our Gala Chairs Rob & Jennifer Welker of Hoefer Welker, honorary chairs Brian Dunn and Mike Comer of JE Dunn, and our Presenting Sponsor Brown & Brown. Their incredible commitment— along with the generosity of countless corporate sponsors, supporters, committee members, volunteers, and guests— brought the Candlelight Club to life.
Cheers to our dazzling emcees Lara Moritz and Neville Miller of KMBC 9, who infused charm and warmth into every moment on stage. The energy soared as auctioneer Ron Stricker’s Auction Company and the incomparable Nigro Brothers led a thrilling live auction, inspiring big laughs and even bigger generosity. Guests eagerly bid on once-in-a-lifetime experiences— from a sun-drenched escape to Lisbon, to a storybook getaway in Edinburgh, plus exclusive sports packages and more.
Then, the room stilled as we watched a powerful video reminding us that each of us can be the spark to ignite change in our community. That moving moment sparked something incredible— KVC’s most successful Fund-a-Need ever, with guests giving generously to support mental health care and family-strengthening services across our region.
Throughout the night, the sultry, soulful vocals of Chloe McFadden set the perfect tone, adding a layer of ambiance that made the Candlelight Club feel truly timeless. Our deepest thanks to Gregory’s Fine Florals, whose arrangements turned the tables into works of art. REACTOR’s interactive invitations captured imaginations before guests even walked through the door, while J&J Printing and LARGEPRINTING.com supplied our bold, beautiful signage and print pieces that kept the evening flowing seamlessly.
Guests are still raving about the decadent menu curated and served by Karen Watts & Team, which included an array of rich flavors and artful presentations. Sweet treats came courtesy of Lori Holmes of Moto Mama’s Munchies, whose desserts were as delightful as they were delicious. And as the night wore on, nothing hit the spot quite like a hot, fresh slice from 451 Pizza — the perfect final bite after a night of making memories and making a difference.
