Kansas Mother Works Hard to be Reunited with Her Children
Keri Strahler is a Kansas mother who suffers from a series of mental health issues. When her children were removed from her care by the courts and placed with a relative, Keri worked with her family preservation worker from KVC to learn patience and respect boundaries with her children. Hear more of Keri’s story in this video produced by the Kansas Department for Children and Families.
Keri learned to trust her case managers and the process, which enabled her family to talk, laugh and love more. Services continue to be provided to the family after the children have returned home.
We are inspired by Keri’s bravery in telling her story, and hope that her success encourages the thousands of other parents across the country who are doing the hard work required to reunite their family.
